Be Useful
“Offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship” Romans 12:1b
Paul reminds us that our physical bodies have a holy purpose. Our bodies are neither meant to be ignored nor idolized. God wants us to maintain the body He has given us and be ready to use it.
George, a friend and old neighbor of mine, never stopped moving when he lived next door. He was always busy working around his place, but was never too busy to stop and talk to my sons. He gave them the best godly, grandfatherly advice, and it was sage counsel. And, even though he would be considered an older man by many, his quiet, continued service to others is an inspiration and example to behold.
You and I will never have a “perfect” body here on earth, but our bodies can be perfected for His use. Take a moment to ask God how your body can be of use for His purpose. What’s holding you back from being tuned up and tuned in?
