Title: Active is worship.
Offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God – this is your spiritual act of worship. – Romans 12:1b
Not part of a small group, you can still learn scripture during the worship service. This requires active listening, following along with your Bible, jotting down key points, and reflecting on them later. If a passage is confusing, ask questions, and find someone after worship to speak with. Church service is a communal learning experience in which the Bible is read aloud, and pastors explain and apply its message. For a deeper understanding, reflect on how the message applies to your faith walk. Reading and teaching scripture are central to worship. Paying attention to both the scripture and the sermon, the sermon is often designed to apply the scripture to everyday life. Share what you’ve learned with others; this can help you gain new perspectives, and this is all a form of worship.
