Title: Intimacy with God
Offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God – this is your spiritual act of worship. – Romans 12:1b
Would you rather be in the woods thinking of God, or in church thinking about the woods? A contrast between being physically present in church, mentally distracted, or being in nature, allowing a deeper, focused spiritual experience. Churches are God’s temples, nature is God’s creation, being in nature to me can lead one to intimacy, a place of solitude for prayer and spiritual connection.
Similar to the scriptures’ account of Jesus seeking solitary places to pray, explained in Mark 1:35. Scripture describes the church as a body of believers, Christ-focused, a place where God’s Spirit dwells. A church community is essential to our spiritual life as we follow Jesus and live according to His teachings. Alone time with him, priceless.
