Title: Invite God In
Offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God – this is your spiritual act of worship. – Romans 12:1b
I play bass on our worship team and love serving, but sometimes I lose sight of what worship really means. It can start to feel routine, like something I just go through the motions of. Have you ever noticed that, no matter how you worship—whether it’s serving, praying, tithing, or reading the Bible—it can sometimes feel like just another item on a checklist?
To remember what worship is really about, we need to stay humble. God is the one who heals us, both physically and spiritually, saves those who are lost, and draws us closer to Him. We can’t do any of that on our own. All we can do is worship and ask for His presence in everything.
However you choose to worship, it’s really an invitation for God to be part of our churches, our hearts, our families, and our lives. Worship welcomes the Holy Spirit into our community as the body of Christ and into our own relationship with Jesus.
Let’s make worship intentional, seeing it as an invitation to our Lord instead of just another task.
