Title: Christ is the Complete Armor
Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. – Ephesians 6:11
Back in the 16th century, knights were covered from head to toe with armor. I don’t know what the armor weighed, but it was a lot. But it was designed to protect the body from all sorts of weaponry and attacks.
In Ephesians, Paul talks about six specific pieces of armor – helmet, breastplate, belt, shield, sword, and shoes, all designed for our protection from Satan and his attacks. Much like the knights, we need to wear it all, not just some of it, for it to be effective. The great thing is that all we need to do is accept and live for the Lord Jesus Christ, and we get the entire armor, but that means putting aside our sins and flesh for the benefit of full protection.
Real men put aside sin and flesh for protection.
