Imagine facing a battle with zero weapons. Imagine your backyard hadn’t been taken care of for a year, and you had to clean it up, but you had no access to any lawn tools! Imagine the struggle to fight a war in the backyard with your hands!
We can try to fight many battles without weapons, whether in the yard or on war battlefields. Simply put, we fight poorly without weapons. In Ephesians 6, Paul instructs us to fight with weapons, not to fight empty-handed.
