Title: Christ is the Complete Armor
Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. – Ephesians 6:11
In the 16th century, knights were fully armored from head to toe. I don’t know what the armor weighed, but it was a lot. However, it was designed to protect the body from various types of weaponry and attacks.
In Ephesians, Paul discusses six specific pieces of armor: a helmet, a breastplate, a belt, a shield, a sword, and shoes, all designed to protect us from Satan and his attacks. Much like the knights, we need to wear it all, not just some of it, for it to be effective. The great thing is that all we need to do is accept and live for the Lord Jesus Christ, and we receive the entire armor. However, this means putting aside our sins and flesh for the benefit of complete protection.
