Title: Our war
For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. – Ephesians 6:12
Sometimes we take the idea of “the sword of the spirit” and imagine ourselves fighting off waves of evil. While this might be true spiritually, our real actions matter too. Praying for our enemies, feeding those who are hungry, and reaching out to people who feel unloved are all ways we take part in spiritual warfare. One example I love is a friend of mine who baptizes people at a place called Hell’s Gate. Even as the enemy tries to harm us, we help bring others into a new life.
