Title: Righteousness of Jesus

Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. – Ephesians 6:11

People in the military and law enforcement wear bulletproof vests to protect their chests, especially their hearts. Getting hurt in the heart is almost always deadly.

Paul said we should put on the breastplate of righteousness to protect our hearts. Remember, this protection comes from Jesus, not from anything we do ourselves. Living in Christ’s righteousness means letting it guard your heart and your life.

So what does it mean to put it on?

Here’s one way to think about it:

Accusation: “You’ve failed too many times for God to accept you.”Breastplate: “My standing with God is based on Christ, not my ability to be perfect.”

Temptation: “It won’t hurt anything if you compromise this once.”Breastplate: “I will choose what honors God even when it’s difficult.”

Shame: “Your past defines who you are.”Breastplate: “My identity is in Christ. I can confess my sin, receive God’s forgiveness, and continue following Him.”

Let the breastplate of righteousness guard your heart by trusting in what Jesus has done, not in your own efforts.

Real Men rely on the righteousness of Jesus.
