Title: Two Prayers


…pray continually – 1 Thess 5:17


In Matthew 6:9-13, Jesus taught a prayer that is a word-for-word prayer that we can use daily. There is also plenty of instances that spontaneous prayers are used in the bible and provide excellent examples of praying at the moment. Both prayers serve a purpose. Word for word, we have comfort in repetition, and spontaneous prayers work for a specific moment. The common thread is they call up devotion and dependence on the One who can care for us and guide us.


Try both ways of praying today and look for the blessings in each one.
