Title: No Excuse

Pray continually… – 1 Thessalonians 5:17

What?  Really?  This is what I would have been thinking about reading this letter from Paul.  You want me to do what?  Pray continually.  Do you know what I have to accomplish in a day, Paul?  Before long, my list of excuses not to pray has run the length of my leg, and I’m off starting my day without acknowledging Christ.  Tell me I’m not alone.  Does this describe you?

So, how do we get to this state of constant prayer?  Pray.  Prayer has got to transition from the chore we so often make it and become a fluid and familiar place to where we no longer think about doing it. It’s just what we do.  Stop for a second.  Concentrate on your breathing.  Can you feel, hear, slow down only by listening to your breaths?  So, too, should be our prayer life.  It should be fluid like breathing; when we stop, we can enter into a beautiful conversation with the Lord of all.

Real men breathe in and out prayer.
