Newton’s Third Law of Physics, “For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction,” suggests that forces always come in pairs and act equally and oppositely to each other.
Few competing forces resemble this law more than the epic battle within each of us . . . The battle of our flesh vs. God’s Spirit. When one is winning, the other is losing. If one lets up, the other begins to take over.
Our choice is simple—maybe not easy, but simple. Like Joshua challenged the Israelites of his day, “Choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve. .” We are challenged to choose between serving one of our two natures.
Real men choose God’s Spirit within them.
