Title: Desires of the Flesh

So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. – Galatians 5:16

This verse is simple enough, right? This life can be such a battle sometimes, and what makes that battle harder, more times than not, is when we concede to the desires of the flesh. Addiction is a big issue in this day and age. Pornography, alcohol, drugs, and gambling might be the big 4, but how about electronics, spending, or our favorite sports team? The desires of the flesh are those things that draw us out of alignment with God and unseat Him as king in our lives. To get back into alignment with Him, we must walk in the Spirit, but how?

In order to walk in the Spirit, we must first confess our sins. In confessing our sins, we acknowledge our failures and need for a Savior. By acknowledging Christ, we get back into alignment with his will. We begin to seek first his kingdom, and He takes his royal place in our lives. Now that you are back in alignment, we remain there by prayer, meditating on his word, and worship. If you are out of alignment and not walking by the Spirit, get out via confession and get back into His will.

Real men align themselves with God by walking in the Spirit.
