Title: God loves messed up people, just like us.


For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. – Hebrews 4:12


The title phrase attracted me to a church four years ago on Easter. My wife and I have been here ever since. Now I say our church. It is not uncommon after a message on Sunday that I feel torn up, as if the message was about me and my walk.
Yet I keep coming back for more, your right, not the sharpest knife in the drawer. How is this Fuel, you say? I realize every week I get the message I need when I think I am doing it right, and boom, “NOPE.” Jamie helps me come to worship for what God wants, not what I want from him.


Many are the plans in a person’s heart,  but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails. Proverbs 19:21

Rebecca and I have lived in SW Florida since 2018, moving from Valparaiso, IN, where they raised three children, William III, Patrick, and Rachel. Bill and Rebecca have been married for 29 years. I currently work for White Lodging Services, and Rebecca is officially retired from school teaching. As a couple, we attend Cape Vineyard Community Church in Cape Coral, FL. Rebecca and I are very active at Cape Vineyard: Rebecca in children’s ministry, and I in band media and supporting facilities.
My interests include Hunting/Fishing and traveling with Rebecca to visit the children and grandchildren. My happy place is the UP of Michigan, where Rebecca and I share time their now.
