Title: The life-changing book
For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. – Hebrews 4:12
Have you ever heard someone say about a book they’ve read, “It totally changed my life!” The author of the book may have hoped for a life-changing response from a reader, but there is no guarantee that such a response will occur. Books are not alive; the same book may change one person’s life while having no impact on another person.
There is, however, one book that stands out from all the rest. Because the Bible is the Word of God, it is “living and powerful” and can impact us at the deepest levels. God’s Word stands in judgment over our most secret “thoughts and intents.” God’s Word always accomplishes the purpose for which God sends it. God speaks with purpose, and His purpose is always achieved.
We need to read the Bible with the expectation that God is using His words to accomplish His purposes in our lives.
