Title: Listen when God speaks

He says, ‘Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth. –  Romans 12:1b

I pray more during hunting season than at any other time of year, selfishly, most of the time, for the hope of harvesting game. I have been very intentional about inviting God into my time here and avoiding idolizing my time UP North. Over the past fifteen-plus years, I have found that in the silence of the wilderness, there is no better time to both speak to and listen to God, no distractions, just pure one-on-one with HIM. Now, for me, whenever I want to be sure God is speaking to me, I like to check the scriptures. A quick tip I was taught is that if the words or voice bring you closer to God, they are from Him; if the voice is about the lottery, probably not God.

Rebecca and I have lived in SW Florida since 2018, moving from Valparaiso, IN, where they raised three children, William III, Patrick, and Rachel. Bill and Rebecca have been married for 29 years. I currently work for White Lodging Services, and Rebecca is officially retired from school teaching. As a couple, we attend Cape Vineyard Community Church in Cape Coral, FL. Rebecca and I are very active at Cape Vineyard: Rebecca in children’s ministry, and I in band media and supporting facilities.
My interests include Hunting/Fishing and traveling with Rebecca to visit the children and grandchildren. My happy place is the UP of Michigan, where Rebecca and I share time their now.
