Title: Look Like Jesus
So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh – Galatians 5:16
What does walking in the Spirit look like?
First, the Holy Spirit lives in us. Next, we let the Holy Spirit guide us. Then, we listen and follow that guidance in our daily lives. When we do these things, we follow the example and character of Jesus.
We all know this can be hard because the Spirit and the flesh are always in conflict. They pull us in different directions.
To face this struggle, we need to know what the sins of the flesh are. Paul lists them clearly in Galatians 5:19-21. “ Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like.” If you find yourself struggling with anything there, talk to a brother in Christ about it. Build a friendship that can become an accountability partnership. Remember, we’re in this together and no one has to face it alone.
