Wisdom will save you from the ways of wicked men, from men whose words are perverse. – Proverbs 2:12
Early on, as a parent, I wanted to prepare my kids for any circumstance they could face. Then I figured out this was not the right investment in helping to develop them. I had to think broader, the bigger picture. So, my wife and I started teaching them courage, perseverance, integrity, and strength. These are things they can use in any circumstance.
Christ does the same thing through His word. He does not promise that anything will be easy, but he promises wisdom by reading His word, which will bring clarity and guidance. It may not change our circumstances, but our hearts will have hope and trust in Him.
I pray that we use His word as a training manual.
