Title: The Light of God’s Word
For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow;
it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart! – Hebrews 4:12
I enjoy analogies because they help me understand things more easily. For example, the flashlight was invented in the late 1890s, soon after the dry-cell battery. Early flashlights got their name because they could only shine for a short time before the batteries ran out. Today, modern LED flashlights can light up hundreds of feet and last much longer.
The Bible says, “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” God’s Word is like a flashlight. If we don’t spend time reading it, we only get a little light, like an old flashlight with weak batteries. But when we read and stay in God’s Word, our light grows brighter, helping us follow the path God has set for us. The more we read and think about God’s Word, the brighter our path becomes.
Real Men open the Word.
