Title: Be the Man
Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ. – 1 Corinthians 11:1
What do you think the writer of this passage (Paul) would have thought of his own words only a few years prior to the writing of this verse? Certainly the idea of following Christ was foreign to him to the point he was anti-Christ. So how does a man in such a short period of time go from anti-Christ, to “follow my example.” Certainly the power of the Holy Spirit cannot be discounted in the life of Paul.
Let us also look to the theme of the day Grit. A man of influence, one who led others to the point of saying follow my example, is a person of Grit. Someone who is determined, and steadfast in character. One who is a man of conviction and committed to live a life focused on eternity. Be that man. Be the man that others look to in time of trouble. Be the man who others point to when they think of a Godly man. Be the man of influence God has called you to be.
Real men are determined to be a man of influence.
