Title: Cast it down
Let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us… – Hebrews 12:1c
Some men enjoy running while others of us are likely to run only when being chased. One thing is for sure in our spiritual race; we are pursued aggressively when running the race He has marked out for us.
Two things are clear from this verse. First, that our race is unique, And second, that we must run with perseverance. When the ground feels muddy under our feet, and we start to slip, we need to look at the critical words proceeding this verse; “lay aside every weight and the sin that ensnares us.” We can’t run with the heaviness of sin around our ankles. Cast it down at the feet of Jesus and run on!
Real men don’t quit running.
