Title: Embrace the suck
Let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us… – Hebrews 12:1c
Embrace the suck. It is a term still used today in the armed forces to describe the most difficult challenges ahead. I can’t help but think of this phrase today, as I did in a text with a fellow manager about what the world faces today. Where we go, what we do, and what we face today change tomorrow. The Media, including TV, Radio, and Newspapers, paint a bleak picture with no answers or end in sight. The Sunday worship service had the smallest turnout I have seen in my two-plus years at Cape Vineyard Church. Yet, Jason is preaching his heart out. Kelly, the lead singer of our praise and worship band, belted out a song with more passion than I have ever seen in a singer. For me, who usually doesn’t give much attention to the music, it hit me! The answer lies in our perseverance and faith. There is one and only one, “the One,” who can bring an end to all this mess! “JESUS”
I will close with this: who parted the Red Sea, who raised the dead, who made a blind man see!
I will add a few scripture verses that are a starting point for us: Deuteronomy 31:6, Ephesians 2:8, and Isaiah 41:10.
