Title Choose Him
“But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.” Joshua 24:15
Joshua is drawing a line in the sand here. He reminds his people of all the ways that God has protected them and tells them that they must make a conscious choice to serve the Lord or serve other gods. He’s calling them out. We should be Joshua, and we should have a Joshua in our lives. For today, I’ll be your Joshua. Will you serve the Lord, or will you serve the flesh?
Be careful here. Many who read this scripture interpret this as a “one-and-done” kind of choice. It’s true that we accept Jesus and become His. We get the opportunity daily to serve Him and others by walking in the Spirit or serving ourselves by walking in the flesh. Choose well, guys. Somedays, it takes grit to make the right choice, but it makes all the difference in the world for that day and often far beyond.
Real men choose to serve the Lord.
