Title Choose Him
“But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.” Joshua 24:15
Joshua is drawing a line in the sand here. He is reminding his people of all the ways that God has protected them and, telling them that they must make a conscious choice to serve the Lord or to serve other gods. He’s calling them out. We should both be and have a Joshua in our lives. For today, I’ll be your Joshua. Will you serve the Lord or will you serve the flesh?
Be careful here, many reading this scripture interpret this as a “one and done” kind of choice. While it’s true that we accept Jesus, and become His once and for all; we get the choice daily to serve Him and others by walking in the Spirit or to serve ourselves by walking in the flesh. Choose well guys, somedays it takes grit to make the right choice but it makes all the difference in the world for that day and often far beyond.
Real men choose to serve the Lord.
