Title: Betrayal and the Strength of True Friendships.
Do not be misled: Bad company corrupts good character. – 1 Corinthians 15:33
I often think about how Jesus must have felt when Judas betrayed Him and Peter denied Him. In His teaching about the End Times, Jesus warned that many people will turn away from their faith and betray friends who stay true.
The Bible gives us many stories of friends and family betraying each other. Cain turned against Abel, Joseph’s brothers betrayed him, and Jacob betrayed Esau. David also spoke about friends who turned on him. Choosing friends carefully is important, but even then, loyalty is not always certain. Real friendships often grow stronger during hard times, and sometimes friends can be even more loyal than family. If you want true friends, try to be the kind of friend you would like to have.
Take some time today to pray for your friends and think about each one on your list.
