Title: Be the Man
Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ. – 1 Corinthians 11:1
What do you think the writer of this passage (Paul) would have thought of his own words only a few years before the writing of this verse? Indeed, the idea of following Christ was foreign to him to the point that he was anti-Christ. So how does a man in such a short time go from anti-Christ to “follow my example”? Yes, the power of the Holy Spirit cannot be discounted in the life of Paul.
Let us also look at the theme of the day: Grit. A man of influence, one who leads others to the point of saying, “follow my example,” is a person of Grit. Someone determined and steadfast. One who is a man of conviction and committed to living a life focused on eternity. Be that man. Be the man that others look to in times of trouble. Be the man whom others point to when they think of a Godly man. Be the man of influence God has called you to be.
