Title: The Mountain.
Let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us… – Hebrews 12:1c
This verse talks about a race, but I often picture it as hiking up a mountain. I like this image because it reminds me that Jesus can choose which mountain we climb. Too often, we end up trying to reach someone else’s goal instead of our own.
God chooses a mountain for us so we can finish what we started in Jesus Christ. He stands with us at the bottom. Sometimes the climb is easy, and sometimes it is hard. We might be tempted to turn back because going down looks easier, but that means giving up on perseverance.
Today, ask God for endurance and the strength to finish the climb He has set before you. Whether the path is easy or difficult, remember that Jesus is climbing with you.
