Title: Serving is Foundational
“But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.” Joshua 24:15
In college, I worked for several summers as a framer. I want to say that I got to build many homes, but in reality, all I did was move piles of lumber and plywood from one location to another. While the locations often changed, the one constant was the foundation. As a framer, we would show up after the foundation had been laid. From there, we would begin the process of placing thousands of pounds of wood onto these short, intense, concrete walls. Not surprisingly, the houses always stood and served their purpose.
You may not have yet built your household. Inspect your foundation. You may be building your household now. Solidify your foundation. Your house may be older. Check your foundation for cracks. For your home to resolve to serve the Lord, it requires a solid foundation.
Real men tend to their foundations.
